19 Apr 2023Diamond Cares, in collaboration with Garbage Free India, headed a groundbreaking initiative called 'Giving Rice for Plastic Bags' at Alipore Sarbojanin on January 12, 2020. This pilot program aimed to combat plastic pollution while addressing the issue of food scarcity. The honourable Mayor of Kolkata, Firhad Hakim, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices and community engagement. Through this drive, we not only collected plastic bags but also distributed rice to those in need, creating a win-win solution for both the environment and the local community.
